Welcome to the Official Rules Team Archive Site. I have created this site to help you more easily locate the ongoing collection of official Rules Digests.

Novelty Nostalgia of gEngine has been hosting set lists and card images, as well as the MRP and Restricted Format and a link to a copy of the rules, on his site. He also has made a few custom card sets, which you can play with on gEngine, the online play tool.

An online rulebook is available here courtesy of CCG Workshop, an online CCG play site.

The compiled list of errata and clarifications, maintained by Bryan Howland and approved by the Rules Team, is available in the Files section of the Yahoo Groups MagiNation archive, in both Word and Text format. This link only works if you have a Yahoo Groups login, which you can get by following the link below:

The Magi Nation website is largely down. This announcement is about all that is on the site as of October 2005:
Dear Magi-Nation Fans:
The licensing agreement to produce the much anticipated Magi-Nation® animated series has been finalized with a multinational studio. The studio is expected to make production and network related press releases in the near future.
If all proceeds according to plan the animated series should begin to be aired in various worldwide markets sometime between Fall 06, Spring 07 and Fall 07. In addition, we expect that the CCG will be re-launched at the time the new series is aired domestically.
Company operations, Magi-Nation® Duel expansion releases and support are suspended until the Magi-Nation® animated series is released.
We will update this notice when additional information becomes available. We appreciate fan patience and support.

Posted to the Magi Nation League Yahoogroup on 12/28/04:
"Currently there is still no solid release date for our next expansion, so I
cannot tell you when tournament support will resume. The only current
benefit to becoming a tournament director is that you may attract additional
players to your events by posting them online. And of course all players'
scores will be added to the global ranking system. If you are still
interested in directing tournaments even though we are unable to provide
free prizes right now, please send me an email at lisa@magi-nation.com.

As requested, here is a copy of the Fiction from the old MND website. It is a zip file of an insanely large word file (about 650 pages), courtesy of Anthony Granados.

Book of Ages #6 is availiable for download to registered members of the Grand Magi Council. Visit the Magi Nation website for more information.
Interactive Imagination has released an optional tournament format: Restricted. Mike Liesik discusses the format HERE on the Magi Nation Yahoogroup (see below).

Promo legality rules: "All cards are legal 2 weeks after their release." - Mike Liesik, 4/22/03

"Errata is a deliberate alteration of wording to change the functionality of a card, whereas clarifications change nothing about how the card is or was always correctly played, they just provide a better, more mechanic-oriented
phrasing of the text." - Law Sterling, Magi-Nation DUEL Rules Team Director

Below are links to the Rules Digests on the yahoo groups web archive of the Magi-Nation listserver. If any of these links stop working, please let me know at ryuteki@msn.com. Please start with the most recent and work backwards, as RT has stated "If a ruling in a digest from now on reverses a ruling, then the ruling is an official reversal and not a contradiction."
"Some good advice is, if you have a rules dilemma you can't solve, always assume the worst, i.e., the cards do not interact in a way so as to create a significant advantage for you/disadvantage for the opponent, because that's probably how it actually works." - Law Sterling, Magi-Nation DUEL Rules Team Director

A few added resources:
Bluntaxe, moderator of the Magi Nation YahooGroup, has been working alongside the Rules Team to create the comprehensive database of past rulings. This database is still in progress on indefinite hold, but has reached the point where you may find it useful. UPDATE: At last check, the database is not currently online.
Insiider has online play league-style points of some sort. Follow this link for more information, I'm not certain if it is still being offered. Apparently, they work with both Apprentice and gEngine.
For those of you who would like the early digests in TXT format, Douglas Camp used to post them to a thread in the message boards at a fan site called Insiider. Here is a link to the thread. It runs through August 2003.
I have tracked down copies of the old Magi Duel website documents. They are out of date, and in some cases contain bad information, but I'm linking them here as an additional resource.

Finally, for those that have not joined the Magi Nation Yahoo Group, I am going to start hosting the text version of the Errata and Clarification List here. I don't promise it will be the most current version (current version is available on the Magi Nation Yahoo Group), though I will try to keep it from getting too far out of date. This is the list from September 17, 2003, which hopefully is the final version, at least until the release of Traitor's Reach.
